    On all fours, ready to invert.

    Roll over the shoulder

    Tuck your head, lift the hips and roll over one shoulder away from them, keeping your hips moving.

    Come up free

    Continue the roll all the way through to come up on your feet, escaped or behind them.

Key details

  • Tuck the head and roll over the shoulder, not the neck.
  • Keep the hips light and moving through the whole roll.
  • Time it when their weight shifts forward over you.

Common mistakes

  • Rolling onto the head/neck instead of the shoulder.
  • Stalling halfway and getting flattened.
  • Rolling into their pressure instead of away.
