Referee’s position, bottom
On all fours, ready to invert.
- 02
Roll over the shoulder
Tuck your head, lift the hips and roll over one shoulder away from them, keeping your hips moving.
- 03
Come up free
Continue the roll all the way through to come up on your feet, escaped or behind them.
Key details
- Tuck the head and roll over the shoulder, not the neck.
- Keep the hips light and moving through the whole roll.
- Time it when their weight shifts forward over you.
Common mistakes
- Rolling onto the head/neck instead of the shoulder.
- Stalling halfway and getting flattened.
- Rolling into their pressure instead of away.
