Step by step
- 01
Referee’s position, bottom
On all fours with the opponent riding your back.
- 02
Build a base & stand
Bring a foot up, control their hands at your waist and stand up explosively while keeping your hips back.
- 03
Clear the hips & face
Peel their hands off, clear your hips and turn in to face them, escaping to neutral.
Key details
- Control their hands before you stand or they ride you back down.
- Keep your hips back and chest up as you rise.
- Turn in toward them the instant your hips are free.
Common mistakes
- Standing before clearing the hands.
- Leaning forward and getting tripped back down.
- Forgetting to turn and face after the escape.
