- 3 steps
Drop under a tie, load the opponent across your shoulders and roll them to the mat. Also known as the Kata guruma or the Fireman. Here is the exact breakdown from the DARCE app: 3 steps, the details that make it work, and the mistakes to avoid.
Step by step
- 01
Control a tie
Secure a wrist and collar tie to set up the level change.
- 02
Drop and load
Pull their arm forward, drop to a knee and shoot the other arm between their legs so their weight loads across your shoulders.
- 03
Drive through & finish
Turn the corner, drive your weight through them and come up in top position.
Key details
- Pull the arm across so they cannot post and stop the entry.
- Drop your level under their hips before lifting.
- Turn your head and roll them across your shoulders, not straight back.
Common mistakes
- Loading them too high on the back instead of the shoulders.
- Keeping the hips too high to get under them.
