AI Judo Coach

Film a round of randori on your phone. DARCE reads your throw and takedown attempts, the transition to the ground and the pin that follows, then gives you a breakdown and the one fix to take back to your sensei. Pick BJJ when you upload: its analysis names judo throws such as seoi nage, uchi mata and tomoe nage.

From randori to your next fix.

  1. 01

    Film

Record randori on your phone, from tachi-waza to ne-waza. One fixed angle is enough: no rig, no markers, no sensors.

    Clip 02 · 01:35 · single angle

  2. 02

    Analyze

DARCE reads the throws and takedowns, the transition to the ground and the pin that follows: side control, mount or north-south.

    14 exchanges · 5 throws read

  3. 03

    Breakdown

See which throws came off and which got stopped, and what happened next: the entry with your hips too far out, the throw with no follow-up on the ground.

Weakest: no follow-up after the throw

  4. 04

    Drill

It hands you the one fix to drill next, like following a throw straight into the pin, at the throw where the follow-up stalled.

Drill next: outside trip to side control

Built for randori, standing and on the mat.

22 wrestling techniques mapped step by step, including the hip toss (o goshi) and the outside trip (osoto gari), inside a library of 90+. There is no judo section.
Weakness detection
Find the throw that keeps getting stopped before your partners learn to read your entry.
Personalized drills
Fixes from your own randori, each tied to the throw that showed it, ready to put into your uchikomi.
Progress tracking
Every round you upload moves your Fighter IQ, shown against your own average, so you can see the work showing up in randori.
Throw to pin
The read does not stop at the throw: the transition to the ground and the pin are read too.
In your pocket
A coach’s read on your randori, on the phone in your kit bag.

Key facts about DARCE

  • DARCE analyses a filmed round of live sparring, read position by position across the whole round, in BJJ, wrestling, striking and MMA, and the same four analyses read sparring in Muay Thai, kickboxing, judo, sambo, no-gi grappling and other martial arts.
  • The analysis is not limited to a technique list: it names what happens in the round from a vocabulary of 260+ positions, moves and finishes across the four martial arts, while the 90+ technique library is a separate step-by-step reference you can read free on darce.app.
  • A DARCE breakdown has four parts: a round summary of who controlled the round and where it turned, a position timeline mapped to the second, the key moments that decided it, and up to 3 fixes, each tied to the moment it happened with one line on why.
  • A breakdown is usually ready one to two minutes after the upload finishes.
  • Film on your phone from a single fixed angle, in landscape, at about chest height for stand-up and higher, angled down, for rolling; no rig, sensors or markers are needed, and a round of up to 2 minutes can be analysed.
  • DARCE is a mobile app for iOS and Android with no web or desktop version; it is in private beta, onboarding the first 50 founding testers from the waitlist at darce.app/join, and is not yet publicly downloadable.
  • DARCE is free for founding testers during the beta, and pricing after the beta has not been announced.

Questions before you start.

Can an AI really coach judo?

It will not replace your sensei or your time on the tatami. What it gives you is the film review most judoka never get: a clear read on your randori, from the throw to the pin, and one fix to work on next.

Does DARCE read grip fighting or score ippon?

No. It reads your throws, takedowns, pins and transitions to the ground. It does not read the grip fight, kumikata, and it is not a judge: it scores no ippon, waza-ari or penalties.

What footage do I need?

Just your phone. A single fixed angle of a live round is enough. No rig, no sensors, no markers.

What does it cost?

Founding testers get free access through the beta. Pricing comes later, and early testers will have a say in it.
