Fight AI Alternative: What to Use for AI Fight Analysis
By Kai Kellert, founder of DARCE
Last updated
Our pick for a Fight AI alternative is DARCE, the app we build, because it gives the fullest read: a whole sparring round of up to 2 minutes taken position by position, a timeline mapped to the second and up to three fixes tied to the moments they happened, all from one fixed phone angle. Fight AI itself is an iPhone and Android app that reviews a short clip of your training: you upload or record it, pick one of five martial arts, add a question, and get AI observations and suggested drills, with a subscription required for its features. Three other alternatives each do a narrower job. mmaGPT runs in your browser with nothing to install, and your first analysis is free with no card. JAB AI, on iPhone, iPad and Android, scores a round you film or upload and replays every graded moment. MMA AI: Cage Coach, on iPhone, iPad and Android, is built for MMA alone and scores a clip from 0 to 100 with frame-by-frame notes.

DARCE, our pick for AI fight analysis
Full disclosure: we build DARCE. Where Fight AI answers your question about one short clip, DARCE reads a filmed round of live sparring position by position across the whole round, in BJJ, wrestling, striking and MMA, and the same four analyses read sparring in Muay Thai, kickboxing, judo, sambo and other martial arts. Boxing is read as striking, your punch selection, defence and movement, as the AI boxing coach page explains. MMA is read across striking, wrestling and grappling as one system, which the AI MMA coach page covers.
You film on your phone from a single fixed angle, in landscape, at about chest height for stand-up and higher, angled down, for rolling, with no rig, sensors or markers. Record a round of up to 2 minutes in the app or pick one you already filmed.
The breakdown is usually ready one to two minutes after the upload finishes. It has four parts: a round summary of who controlled the round and where it turned, a position timeline mapped to the second, the key moments that decided it, and up to three fixes, each tied to the moment it happened with one line on why. The AI sparring analysis explainer shows how it works.
Every round you upload also feeds Fighter IQ, one score out of 265 from offence, defence, variety, control and, once your rounds are tracked, physicality, shown against your own average so you can see whether you are climbing. The 90+ technique library is free to read on darce.app, from the double-leg takedown to the D'Arce choke. BJJ, wrestling, striking and MMA sit in one app, and to our eye it has the cleanest design.
DARCE is a training aid, not a coach, and like any AI it can make mistakes. Want your next round read this way? Join now.
What Fight AI does, in its own terms
Fight AI describes itself as an AI boxing and MMA coach in an app, for iPhone and Android. Its site lists five disciplines, boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, wrestling and jiu-jitsu, and says the Fight AI app brings together AI video analysis, coach conversations, personalised training guidance and a dashboard for your training activity.
The video flow has three steps. Film a short clip with a steady camera, your whole body in view and enough light. Upload or record it, choose your discipline and add a question about what you are working on. Then review the feedback: Fight AI says it reviews frames from your footage and returns observations, suggested drills and areas to explore.
The question is the core of it. If you are drilling the jab-cross and want to know whether your rear hand comes back to your chin, ask exactly that, and the feedback has a target. Between sessions, its AI coach chat takes training questions, such as what to look for in your footage.
Its site says Fight AI is free to download, with a subscription required to access its features, and that the app shows plans, local pricing, trial conditions and renewal terms before you buy. It also says AI can misread footage, so use its suggestions alongside qualified instruction. Read on fightai.app on 21 October 2026.
Why people look for an alternative
Fight AI is built around one clip, one technique and your question. People searching for an alternative may have a different job in mind:
- A whole round, not one clip. Fight AI answers your question about a short clip. DARCE reads a round of up to 2 minutes position by position, JAB AI scores a round of up to 90 seconds filmed in the app, and MMA AI: Cage Coach scores each round from 0 to 100.
- A browser instead of an app. Fight AI is a phone app. mmaGPT runs in your browser on phone, tablet or desktop.
- A free first analysis. Fight AI needs a subscription for its features. mmaGPT gives every new account one analysis free, with no card.
- Scoring built for MMA. Fight AI covers five martial arts. MMA AI: Cage Coach names no martial art but MMA.
None of these is a flaw in Fight AI. They are different jobs, and each alternative in this guide is built around one of them.
mmaGPT, for a free first look in your browser
mmaGPT runs at mmagpt.app in your browser, on phone, tablet or desktop, with no app to download, and its site calls it an AI martial arts coach. It lists 11 martial arts, from boxing, Muay Thai and BJJ to capoeira and Krav Maga.
You film 20 to 60 seconds of drills, bag work, pads or sparring, with your whole body in frame and one move or exchange in the clip. Its site says it reads your technique, defence and footwork for your style and level, picks the one fix that matters most, shows you the exact moment in your video and gives you a drill, in about a minute. Film again and the next report checks whether the fix held.
Your first analysis is free, with no card. After that, prices are in US dollars: US$19 a month for 8 analyses, US$29 for 16 or US$49 for 45, and less when billed yearly. Read on mmagpt.app on 21 October 2026.
Where it differs from Fight AI: mmaGPT picks the fix for you, where Fight AI starts from your question.
JAB AI, for a scored replay of your round
JAB AI's site describes AI-generated video workouts, real-time voice coaching during rounds and frame-by-frame video analysis across 9 martial arts, from boxing and MMA to judo and combat sambo. Its US App Store listing says the video analysis covers 10, adding kickboxing.
Upload training or sparring footage and, its site says, you get back an annotated breakdown video with feedback on stance and footwork, strike mechanics, and timing and reactions. The App Store listing adds that you can film a round in the app, up to 90 seconds, with live counts of punches, kicks, knees, elbows and level changes while you film. You get a score for the round, a replay that stops on every graded moment, and coach's notes with a drill and a timer.
It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, with a web version listed as coming soon. Its site says the apps are free to download and publishes no prices. Its App Store listing says Pro unlocks AI video analysis, and the US listing shows in-app purchases from US$4.99 a week to US$79.99 a year. MMA AI: Cage Coach, for scoring built for MMA
MMA AI: Cage Coach is an MMA training app run by Doved Studio, which the privacy policy and terms on its site name as the operator. You record or import a clip and get a 0 to 100 score with frame-by-frame notes on your striking, takedowns, clinch work, transitions and ground positions, plus the fix to make first and drills for your next session. Each round you film lands on a ladder by its score, from amateur bout to undisputed.
Beyond video, its site lists an AI chat coach called Coach Rico, multi-week programs, a fight countdown, weight tracking, meal logging from a photo, and clubs with leaderboards.
Its site links to the App Store for iPhone and to Google Play for Android, and publishes no prices. The US App Store lists it as free with in-app purchases, but says the app requires a paid plan to use, from US$7.99 a week to US$119.99 for lifetime access. FAQ
What is the best Fight AI alternative?
Our pick is DARCE, for the fullest read: it reads a whole sparring round of up to 2 minutes position by position, maps a timeline to the second and ties up to three fixes to their moments, from one fixed phone angle with no rig, sensors or markers, across four martial arts in one app. For a narrower job, try mmaGPT for a free first look with nothing to install, JAB AI for a scored replay of a round you film on your phone, or MMA AI: Cage Coach for MMA-only scoring plus fight prep.
Is there a free alternative to Fight AI?
mmaGPT is the closest: every new account gets one free analysis with no card, then plans run from US$19 to US$49 a month. JAB AI and MMA AI: Cage Coach are free to download, but JAB AI's App Store listing says Pro unlocks AI video analysis, and MMA AI: Cage Coach's listing says the app requires a paid plan. DARCE's 90+ technique library is free to read on darce.app.
Does Fight AI analyze sparring video?
Fight AI analyzes a short clip of your training: you upload or record it, pick your martial art and add a question, and it returns observations and suggested drills. Its site, read on 21 October 2026, does not name sparring footage as an input, and frames each clip around one technique. DARCE is built for that footage: a filmed round of live sparring, read position by position. mmaGPT's site says sparring footage works, and JAB AI's site names sparring among the footage it analyzes.
What is an AI fight analysis app?
An AI fight analysis app watches video of your training or sparring and tells you what happened and what to work on next, usually with a drill. The apps differ in how much footage they take, from 20 to 60 seconds on mmaGPT to up to 2 minutes on DARCE, and in what comes back: answers to your question on Fight AI, a score on JAB AI and MMA AI: Cage Coach, or a position timeline on DARCE. Fight AI's and mmaGPT's own sites say they support a coach rather than replace one.

Is DARCE the D'Arce choke?
No. DARCE is a mobile app for martial artists that analyses filmed sparring rounds, made by Kellert Labs Pty Ltd on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. It is named after the D'Arce choke and is not related to the Darce code editor. The D'Arce itself is a choke from the front headlock, broken down step by step in our D'Arce choke breakdown.
