Ask below, or email [hello@darce.app](mailto:hello@darce.app). ## Key facts - DARCE analyses a filmed round of live sparring, read position by position across the whole round, in BJJ, wrestling, striking and MMA, and the same four analyses read sparring in Muay Thai, kickboxing, judo, sambo, no-gi grappling and other martial arts. - The analysis is not limited to a technique list: it names what happens in the round from a vocabulary of 260+ positions, moves and finishes across the four martial arts, while the 90+ technique library is a separate step-by-step reference you can read free on darce.app. - A DARCE breakdown has four parts: a round summary of who controlled the round and where it turned, a position timeline mapped to the second, the key moments that decided it, and up to 3 fixes, each tied to the moment it happened with one line on why. - A breakdown is usually ready one to two minutes after the upload finishes. - Film on your phone from a single fixed angle, in landscape, at about chest height for stand-up and higher, angled down, for rolling; no rig, sensors or markers are needed, and a round of up to 2 minutes can be analysed. - DARCE is a mobile app for iOS and Android with no web or desktop version; it is in private beta, onboarding the first 50 founding testers from the waitlist at darce.app/join, and is not yet publicly downloadable. - DARCE is free for founding testers during the beta, and pricing after the beta has not been announced. ## Beta and access **When does the beta open?** We're onboarding 50 founding testers first. Join the waitlist and you'll get the launch email the moment it opens. **What is the private beta?** It's DARCE's early access phase: we're onboarding 50 founding testers first, and the app is free during the beta. It's a work in progress, so features can change and things may break. **What is a founding tester?** A founding tester is one of the first 50 people we're onboarding into the private beta. Keep your own copy of any footage that matters to you. **How do I leave the waitlist?** Email hello@darce.app and ask us to remove you. We only keep your waitlist sign-up until launch or until you ask us to remove it, and you can opt out of product emails at any time. Pricing comes later, and you'll have a say in it. If paid plans arrive, you'll see the price before you're ever charged. **Is the beta free?** Yes. DARCE is free during the beta, and joining the waitlist costs nothing. **Do I need a credit card to join?** No. The waitlist form doesn't ask for any payment details, and DARCE is free during the beta. If paid plans come later, you'll see the price and terms before you're charged. **Will DARCE stay free after the beta?** Not necessarily. Pricing comes later, and founding testers will have a say in it. If we add paid features or plans, you'll see the price and terms before you're charged, and you can choose whether to subscribe. **Can I cancel a paid plan?** Yes. There's nothing to cancel while the beta is free. If you subscribe later, you can cancel future renewals in your account or app store settings, and Apple or Google handle refunds under their own rules. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a store subscription, so cancel that separately. You can record a round in the app or pick one you've already filmed from your phone, and it uploads securely to your private storage. Nothing is analysed until you confirm on the upload screen. **Do my training partners need to agree to be filmed?** Yes. Before you upload, you need the consent of everyone identifiable in the footage, including training partners, coaches and anyone else in frame, plus your gym or venue's permission. For anyone under 18, you need their parent or guardian's consent too. Nothing is analysed until you confirm on the upload screen, and if you pick a different video or leave without submitting, the file that started uploading is deleted from our servers automatically. ## AI analysis **How does the AI analysis work?** Upload a round from your phone and DARCE's AI watches it the way a coach would. It reads the round position by position and explains what it saw in plain language, ending with the one position to drill next. Every breakdown hands you the next technique to drill, so you always know what to work on next. Its fixes are tied to the moments they happened, each with one line on why. **Does DARCE replace my coach?** No. DARCE is a training aid, not a coach. It gives you the film review most hobbyists never get, a clear read on every exchange and one position to work on, so your mat time and your coach's attention go further. **How accurate is the AI?** Like any AI, it can make mistakes. Your breakdown may be inaccurate, incomplete or miss context, so treat it as general information rather than coaching advice, and check anything important with a qualified coach. It's shown against your own average, so you know if you're climbing, and every round you upload feeds it. **What is the Lab?** The Lab is the tab with every number DARCE reads from your rounds and the exact maths that turns them into your Fighter IQ. [Open the technique library](https://darce.app/techniques) **What is the Social tab?** Social is where you train with your people: members-only rooms for your gym and groups, a shared weekly timetable, and a Near you board ranked by mat time. **Does DARCE track my progress?** Yes. Every round you upload moves your Fighter IQ, shown against your own average so you can see if you're climbing. Your history keeps your sessions, mat time and streaks, and the Train tab logs sessions and times your rounds. ## Privacy and footage **Is my footage private?** Yes. It uploads securely to your own private storage and is used only to give you your breakdown. We never sell it, and we never use it to train our AI for others unless you switch that on, which is off by default. The AI providers that build your breakdown process it, and we delete it within 30 days of analysis unless you save it. You give us permission to process it so we can give you your breakdown. Using your footage to train our AI for other users is off by default, and you can turn it off again at any time in Settings. Saved videos stay until you delete them or close your account, and a video you pick but never submit is deleted automatically. You can also delete a video and keep its written breakdown. We share it only as needed to run DARCE, for example with our hosting, AI, email and analytics providers, or where the law requires it. Members of your groups see your activity there, including any clips you share, and if you add a location, athletes nearby see your mat time on the Near you board. Training partners see your Fighter IQ unless you turn it off, and keep what you tag them in once they confirm. Pausing hides you, except what a partner keeps. Some other providers, such as those for AI processing, analytics and email, may process information in the United States or other countries. Already uninstalled? Email privacy@darce.app from your account's email address. Your account closes straight away and your data is removed within 30 days, apart from what a training partner keeps in their own record, such as a session or clip they confirmed. Pausing hides you from other athletes, apart from what a training partner keeps in their own record. It also stops notifications and freezes your streak instead of breaking it. Nothing is deleted, and one tap brings you back. Our analytics are cookieless: they set no cookies and store nothing on your device. With your permission, we also use advertising cookies, such as the Meta Pixel, to measure our ads, and you can change your choice from the cookie button at the bottom of any page.
